Mark C. Cannady is president and owner of MedSmart. With more than 30 years of medical industry and entrepreneurial experience, Mark is in charge of marketing, operational guidance, strategizing and analyzing market trends.

Originally from the Midwest, Mark moved to Las Vegas in 1989, where he worked as a sales executive for a medical equipment company specializing in ultrasound systems. He discovered an interesting dilemma for local medical facilities – they had the necessary systems to service their patients, but lacked enough certified medical technologists to operate them. Thus, the idea for MedSmart was born.

Whether the ultimate goal for his clients include revenue generation or revenue savings, Mark created a solution-oriented company that is the only one of its kind, providing permanent staffing and management solutions for the entire region.

Mark enjoys spending time with his 2 children, friends, and is an avid golfer. He is also a supporter of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Brent While is the Director of Finance and Administration for MedSmart, where he’s responsible for performing daily financial and administrative functions, ensuring the financial and operational success of the company.

Brent has more than 11 years of experience in the medical industry. Before joining the MedSmart team, he was Project Manager for Stryker in San Jose, Calif., and worked as an Enterprise Resource Planning Consultant for Software Arts Consulting.

Brent received a bachelor of science in environmental economics from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and an MBA in healthcare management from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City.

Michel Francisco is a Director of Radiology for MedSmart, where she leads and oversees all operational activities within the Radiology department. She collaborates with the other directors and modality managers to plan for her department’s future growth and strategic initiatives and ensures accrediting body and regulatory agency compliance.

With more than 10 years of experience, Michel was a Radiology Assistant Manager for MedSmart where she managed over 90 radiology techs. Michel has a degree in Diagnostic Imaging and is a Registered Radiology Technologist with the ARRT as well as a Nevada State Licensed Mammographer.

During Michel’s spare time she enjoys running and spending time with her husband and her new baby boy.

Tye Allen is a Director of Radiology for MedSmart, where he is responsible for the daily diagnostic operation and the management of more than 30 Technologists on his team, including training and new employee orientation, evaluation and scheduling.
Before entering the medical field, Tye worked as a tutor for children with autism with P.A.L.S. in Las Vegas.

A Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Tye received a bachelor of science in nuclear medicine from UNLV and an associate of science from Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Jon Spencer is a Director of Radiology for MedSmart, where he is responsible for the daily diagnostic operation and the management of more than 40 Technologists on his team, including training and new employee orientation, evaluation and scheduling. In addition, he ensures his department’s compliance with state regulations and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Jon also is responsible for RAM license renewals and works alongside surgeons, specialty care physicians and radiologists to improve and expand diagnostic imaging services.

Previously, Jon was Nuclear Medicine Supervisor for MedSmart. He possesses more than 13 years of experience in the medical industry. A Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Jon received a bachelor of science in nuclear medicine from UNLV.

T. Kyle is a Director of Radiology for MedSmart, where he is responsible for the daily diagnostic operation in his department including X-Ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, EEG and nuclear medicine. He also manages the technologists on his team, and handles training and new employee orientation, evaluation and scheduling.

A 12-year industry veteran, T. was a CT/radiology supervisor and radiography technologist for Spring Valley Hospital and University Medical Center prior to joining MedSmart. He has a degree in occupational science in radiologic technology and a Bachelors of Healthcare Administration. He is currently pursuing his Master of Healthcare Administration.

A resident of the Las Vegas valley since 1997, T. enjoys boxing and spending time with his wife and four children.

Victor Harris comes with 29 years of imaging experience in multiple modalities to include X-ray, Angiography, C.T. and Ultrasound. Victor joined the United States Air Force in 1989 and graduated #1 in his class from the Air University Radiologic Sciences program in 1991. Certified by A.R.R.T. (R), Victor was Hand-picked for Diagnostic Ultrasound School at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio TX in 1993 to train in Vascular, Obstetrical and Abdominal Ultrasound and Physics. After graduation Victor was registered by the A.R.D.M.S. and selected as the Ultrasound Manager at Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital, Las Vegas NV.

Victor retired honorably in January 2011, at the Rank of Major after 22 years of service to his country. He has held positions/titles such as technologist, Manager, Director of Imaging, Director of Operations, Commandant of Cadets and Commander. He prides himself on leading by example, and now runs Imaging operations for Medsmart, Inc, Las Vegas NV. Victor holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Radiologic Sciences and Liberal Studies, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University, and is completing his dissertation as a PhD Candidate through California University in Health Care Administration and Leadership. Married to his wife Stacy, with 3 children, (Tyler, Kayla and Nathan), Victor enjoys body-building, golf and watching the Golden Knights Hockey Team.

William Goodrich is a Director of Radiology for Med Smart where he is responsible for the daily operations and management of more than 40 technologists on his team. He ensures his department’s compliance with state regulations and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Prior to his appointment to Radiology Director, William held positions as Associate Radiology Director, Ancillary Services Manager, EEG Manager, EEG technologist, and patient transporter. He has been with Med Smart since 2006. William still works closely with neurologists and hospital administration to build new long term monitoring EEG programs and initiatives within the Las Vegas valley.

William obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration in 2018 where he graduated with Honors. He received the Ray-Maben scholar award for finishing with a 3.96 GPA. William enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and children. In addition, William is heavily involved in his son’s athletics as he plays competitive travel baseball.

In 2004, Claudia moved from the east coast to the Vegas area to continue her radiology career in an outpatient setting. After just a short time, Claudia earned her ARRT(CT) license and soon later was promoted to CT Manager. Claudia discovered Med-Smart while working in a per-diem capacity and soon discovered her desire to work in a hospital setting.

In 2015, Claudia joined Med-Smart as CT Manager with leadership oversight of over 70 CT Technologists. Claudia utilized her strengths in management and made enhancements to the development and training program for CT technologist, improved the scheduling to help with work life balance and overall department quality and efficiency. In 2018, Claudia was promoted to Director of Radiology where she has oversight of radiology operations and regulatory including X-ray, Mammography, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Echo and Radiology Front Desk.
Claudia has an Associate Degree of Radiologic Science, Bachelors Degree in Health Science, certified in X-ray, certified in CT and will soon pursue her Masters Degree.

Claudia enjoys football and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Candace Ahern is the X-Ray Manager for MedSmart. She came to MedSmart with 20 years experience in the field of Radiology. Her experience started in Diagnostic Imaging but rapidly progressed to Interventional Radiology, Clinical Instructor for the department and finally to the Radiology Manager for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology. The facility she comes from encouraged growth from within and opened opportunities to her that she can share and develop with MedSmart.

Her responsibilities with MedSmart include hiring new talent, managing schedules for multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities, developing and guiding a training program for new talent and providing evaluations on the team. She works closely with Hospital Directors to maintain the stability and strength of the departments. She enjoys her role as Radiology Manager and watching new technologists develop into strong team members.

Candace relocated from the east coast with her husband to enjoy the warmer climate. She is the mother of two daughters and soon to be a grandmother. She truly enjoys time with her family and entertaining.

Katie is the Radiology manager for Boulder City Hospital. Her responsibilities include overseeing daily department operations for X-ray, Cat Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and Echocardiography. She also provides patient care in the areas of X-ray and Cat Scan.

Katie is a Las Vegas native. She began her Radiology career in 2004, graduating from the UNLV Radiography program. In 2008, Katie obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration from UNLV.

Rodney L. Smith is the CT modality manager. His responsibilities with MedSmart include hiring new employees, managing schedules for multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities, developing and guiding a training program for new technologists and providing evaluations on the team. He works closely with hospital directors to maintain the stability and strength of the departments.

Rodney has 10 years of experience in the medical field and has been working with MedSmart for over 5 years. He relocated to Las Vegas 26 years ago from Southern California. He is a proud father of two girls and enjoys spending time with them doing outdoor activities.
